I avoid romance literature that features scantily clad men and women on horseback. When I read something, I want to learn or imagine a new world. Romance literature would do nothing but create a massive headache from all the eye rolling I would do while reading.
LoL! same! I hate romance too.
ReplyDeleteHigh 5!
I will admit that I have indulged in a few mindless romance novels in my life but many less now that I have my blog. I could not imagine writing a full review on one of them?

Oh my goodness I love your answer! I do enjoy the occasional paranormal romance, however when I see a shirtless cowboy, or a strategically placed horse, on the cover I tend to keep looking!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog, I am now following you bacn and looking forward to reading more from you! :)

I feel the same way! Following back. Thanks for stopping by my blog.
ReplyDeletePS- I replied to your comment on my post about my job :)
Lol. I can understand why some people hate romance novels. I actually love romance novels, but I tend to read them only in the young adult and paranormal genres, which aren't that bad to stomach.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and am now a follow of yours too,

I actually love romance but not the sappy ones! Thank you for stopping by my blog! :)
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel, I can only deal with romance in the paranormal genre. And in small amounts. New follower :)

Hmm I can't imagine that. I read a lot of romances but barely any scantily clad, unless you consider scots?

I love romance. Some are admittedly as shallow as you described, but certainly not all. To each his own! Reading to Penguins
ReplyDeleteI love romance novels. Especially the ones with scantily clad people on horseback. Different strokes :) New follower.
ReplyDeleteHopping through. I've started getting a little into romance. I don't mind it if there's a good plot to go along with it.
ReplyDeleteMy Hop
Same here. :D Thanks for visiting.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big romance reader.. as long as it doesn't involve eye rolling. Explains all the rants on my blog, I suppose. *gnn*
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!

yes! i mean how cliche, every single book is the exact same! I just don't read those all together, that's why I'm liking dystopians nowadays, they've got a story and a romance which is awesome :D

I don't go for romance either. I like the little bit that's incorporated into the books I read. But never full on romance books.

I admit I'm a sucker for romance. Cliches and eye rolling will definitely turn me off from a particular romance book, but I could always do with a little heart melting.

Best to avoid any books that make your eyes roll so much your head hurts! Thanks for stopping by my blog! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI agree about romance books. I like reading books that have a romantic element to them, but not pure romance.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. =)

Not one for Romance novels, enjoyed your answer.

Good answer! I feel a lot of romance novels only exist for the sex and the actual story of the characters is flat. Happy reading :) Check out my FF:

That was my primary answer as well. I can't do romance novels. I can do romance as sort of a subtext of a much larger story, but I hate when books focus on the romance and not an actual plot.

Hi, just stopping by from the FF. I'm a new follower. I don't like to read horror books, I'm just not into getting scared all that much. I like romance if it's well written, but not the kind of romance you describe lol (:

lol, I agree! Those books don't interest me either! and I yawn at autobiographies :)
ReplyDeleteMy FF: http://bumblesandefairytales.blogspot.com/2012/01/another-feature-and-follow.html
I don't mind romance books, but definitely not the ones with scantily clad people and horses on the front! Real ones with substance and a storyline are great, but when it's written just for gritty response or just to be sappy contrived words, it's terrible.
ReplyDeleteOld follower, but stopping by from FF :)
