Follow Friday

I really enjoyed reading the first two Fever books by Karen Moning. The series that I was really disappointed with this month is the Black Dagger Brotherhood. I heard so many great things about the series, but I could not get past the poor and cheesy dialogue. Furthermore, each story was a bit more predictable than the last. The girl we meet during the first few chapters will inevitably hook up with the brother discussed in the first chapter.

  1. I still have to read JR Ward, but I haven't had the chance yet. Glad you enjoyed it! Hope you have a happy friday :)

  2. Hopping through. It's funny...I prefer BDB over the Fever series, although I like them both.

  3. I started the BDB series last year and I was bored to death!
It just wasn't for me. As for the Fever series, I haven't read it yet, but I might need to check it out :)

  4. I really enjoyed the first few books in the BDB series, but once I hit book 4, I started to get really frustrated with the series. I am hoping that Lover Reborn will redeem itself, but I doubt I'll read any more books after Tohr's.

I have yet to read the Fever books by Karen Marie Moning. I have the first book, and am planning on reading it as part of my TBR Challenge.

  5. Thanks for following!

I agree that it's all a bit inevitable. This is why the Quinn/Blay story line fascinates me. It's the only thread that I'm not sure will ever happen, which is what keeps me going on the series.

I haven't the Fever books yet, but I've heard great things.

I look forward to reading your reviews as well. Happy Friday!

  7. I haven't read the Fever books I might have to now. I really like BDB but maybe it's the predictablity that I like about it.

  8. I tried reading the first BDB book but realized pretty quickly that it wasn't for me. I prefer the Midnight Breed series by Lara Adrian for my vampire brothers fix.

Yeah, I hate when books get predictable like that. So frustrating.

  12. I love the Fever series and BDB. Sorry it didn't work for you. It's romance so I'm used it to being predicable I guess.

  14. Good luck with my blog competition and thank you so much for entering- I'm really thrilled by what you said about my shop- right now I'm not doing engravings but I do have about 5 (though only one of currently listed) that have watchpats on the front of the lockets, like this one-

They're quite small, but very sweet! If you'd like pictures of any of the other ones in the same style that I haven't listed, let me know and I'll work out how to get them through to you.

  15. Oh, I agree with you EMPHATICALLY on both.
I wound up LOVING the Fever series. I've only read the first BDB book, and it was just... OK, I LOVE romance, I love happily ever afters. I'm fine with some cheese, and I'm fine with predictable... but I laughed the WHO way through Dark Lover. The ridiculous faux-gangsta speak irritated me like I can't even say. "I'm outtie." *shudders*
